On what seems a dangerously humble path to the 'all or bust', stumbles the relentless creative genius of singer/songwriter Daniel Lindsay, a face familiar to many Torontonians and Bramptonites as of the frontman/guitarist in what seems to be countless rock/pop/acoustic outfits. Each of these drunken collectives chime an alternative influence (ranging from the harder-edged Queens of the Stone Age to early Bright Eyes and an even more contemporary Arcade Fire, inebriated) and yet every lo-fi production under Lindsay's belt comes off as a fully conscious exploration of thoughtful music in all its diversity and untapped hilarity. He knowingly sets that fine line which seperates sobriety from FUBAR and, lost along the way, composes what seems to be a work-in-progress masterpiece time and again. Standouts include The Big City Nights' MADD-nightmare track, 'Can I Borrow Your Car?', and the coming of age 'Hockey Night in Canada', as well as Thick James and the Bitches' powerfully eloquent 'Handjob Shoppe'.
